Simplify and humanize the California College Promise Grant Application.



MY ROLE

  • Project manager on this $40k technical assistance project
  • Led discovery with student and financial aid staff
  • Build design team, facilitated design sprint What is a design sprint?

  • Collaborated with UX Designer to translate PDF into a clickable prototype with smart logic for development into an online form

RESULT

Simplified the form for the ~30,000 California Community College students who

are asked to complete it.


Student testing indicated that the time to complete the new form was cut in half for

most students.

Tell the story of Cal Fire's work to prevent wildfires and maintain forests, integrate fire safety messages for the general public, and make recruitment more compelling.

MY ROLE

  • Copywriter for home page, five secondary pages, and 20 program pages
  • Created low fidelity mockups for five new secondary pages
  • Assisted in image selection and component design for secondary and tertiary pages

Dynamic content for their website, social media presence, and virtual conference sponsorships

Crisis Text Line Kits

Promotional campaign sent to all 113 community

colleges to announce a crisis text line for students.

MY ROLE

  • Publicity: Program announcement which resulted in coverage by KPCC, an NPR affiliate.
  • Team leadership: general supervision/design feedback to graphic designer


RESULT

Initial months of the campaign saw an average of 400 conversations per month using the unique text number.


The campaign won a District Award and a Gold Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.
